Kensington Roof Gardens
99 Kensington High Street, London, W8 5ED

Over 100 feet above Kensington High Street, Kensington Roof Gardens took root in 1938 in the imagination of the owners of Derry and Tom's Department Store.

It soon became an unlikely reality on top of the building itself, covering one and a half acres with three theme gardens. A red-bricked Tudor Garden; a Spanish Garden with palms, fountains and manicured lawns; and a formal English Garden that extends the length of the roof and includes a fish pond, live ducks and flamingos. Also the site of a bar and restaurant, the gardens are regularly open to the public when not booked for events

A little surreal in a very artificial way for a House club, extremely expensive for a place lacking in atmosphere, it came to my attention that single lads get turned away for not looking like a true yupee's and the girls seem a little false. The music is the right kind of music but not mixed or blended in the professional mannerisn, the thing I liked was the overhead view across London...

absolutley amzing party venue, the best place ive ever been to, a night to remeber, i would recommend to anyone looking to dump some cash for a big party because the service and venue are head and shoulders above the rest!

I have to say the music they play here is not really my cup of tea but everything else about the venue makes this my favourite in London. Obviously a bit of a dead duck if it cold or raining since the whole piont is the garden - so check the weather before you go. Location, location, location. This place has it.

absolute rip off. drinks prices very much overpriced. unable to get cocktails . only champagne, wine . scruffy men would definitely not go there again , speaking for party of 25 plus guests. dont waste your money to make a cocktail was too much trouble.

The club itself has the potential to be a cut above the rest but its a shame that there is no way to meet all the guests before they enter because like every club in the west end and kings rod it is filled with pretentious public school kids whos dad has given them more money than sense. Some of them are fine as i used to be one of these socialites myself but have learned the art of cutting off the rubbish and keeping in the truthfull people. So if you ignore the unmodest prices and occasional daddies boy that you encounter in every club it really is a great veiw and evening.

If you like over rated, over priced clubs, go over, and over come your inqusitiveness! Over rated though (really), the views are good from the roof, and thats it!

the gardens themselves are absolutely out of this world. it's worth it just to go and be outside in summer. they are incredible. the inside, however, looks like a doctors waiting room. its not sloaney at all, its totally eurotrash with about five million matchingly tanned men in suits. the music's average chart stuff and, the club decor inside is rubbish. you feel like you're dancing in a big lounge room - if you like sexy, low-lit, intimate dancing surrounded by good-looking people, this is REALLY not your thing.

A pretty amazing venue. Lovely surrounding - a wierd feeling being over london. Rather good though.
