The club has been beautifully designed with some very unique and stylish aspects and will represent a haven for those that look for such high end venues but are understandably shy of the west end. They have a champagne lounge sponsored by Moet, 4 rooms (500 capacity)valet parking and many other exclusive touches that you will only find with Amika.

Came up with some friends a few weeks ago, everything was amazing. How can anyone go against the staff that work there? I was with two others and the girl on the door let us in with a smile. Maybe you were rejected for not dressing up. It is hardly a dressed down club. Thanks for a good time

This club is the most ridiculous, primitive and ignorant place I have been to in a long time. It promotes discrimination never have I experienced such ignorance and sheer depravity in my life. The club is run by unintelligent, uncultured yobs who seem to believe they are high class although they clearly have had no education. My friends and I were extremely well dressed, had identification and were extremely polite to the people working on the door. We then had our identification checked by a man who said it was fine. We reached the entrance of the club where an extremely rude woman asked us if we were all over 21. We had shown our identification already and told her that we were a mixture of ages all over 18. She simply replied that this was an over 21’s club although we had happened to be speaking to a group of 18 year olds who had gone into the club without any trouble. I later found out that this woman had not let us in because two girls in the group were black. These girls were extremely classy, dressed formally and were also very polite. I was absolutely astounded when I later found out the comment that the bouncer made about the two black girls which is simply too crude and sickening to repeat. I have never in my life seen this kind of ignorance let alone from a place that claims to be so respectable. It is anything but respectable. I didn’t realize that such primitive, ignorant, self-righteous, imbecilic and inane people were still in existence.

I think all the good comments come from the people who work and give money to this club, which might look good when you go in but otherwise it is discriminating and should be called illegal. We were on the guestlist, it was 9.30 and the door lady told us to go somewhere else for an hour because we were so drunk. It was 9.30, we weren't drunk, had one drink before in a pub an that is it.
Anyway after our friend of mine, who knows the manager, asked him to get us in, he said he can't, because our make-up is rubbish and our stockings were bullshit. Next thing you know you're a Jew or a black girl and can't get in or what? I was about to call the police, but probably they bought them into it.
No wonder people live under such pressure in a world where they have to be so damn perfect to be let in in a club.
Door ladys totally dumb, also bouncers kept sending us away as we were distburning the image on the outside for our complaining.
Never go there, this discriminating behaviour should not be tolerated.

Disaster. Spent 2hours waiting in the queue on new years eve of 2011 because of bad organisation. Only to find that the bouncers and door ladies were absolutely out of order, as if they think they are the sh*t because they work in a "top" night club of London. I had a huge problem that night and seeked for help to a bouncer, only to be shoed away because he "can't be bothered" to help me. When I begged him to listen to me and treat me like "a human being" he called for security to throw me out of the club. Never again am I going there. The rooms are tiny anyway and the music is erratic and set on repeat. AVOID THIS CLUB! Better off spending your money at Merah or Bond, where the bouncers actually treat you with respect. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE!

Worst nightclub ever, bouncers literally have sticks up their asses and act like total cunts. Rude behaviour by both the management and door lady. On new years eve it took over two hours to get 400 people into the club which in any Miami club would take under 15 minutes. Management have no organization. One person tells us to stand here and wait while the other bouncer kicks us out.
Overall the club is way to small and the management is retarded.

I would never visit this club again, I was horrified and disgusted with the way the door girl with the clipboard treated customers.
I had been invited to Amika last Friday night by some friends to join them as they had booked a table. I was told to give the name that the table was booked under at the door. I had also put myself and 3 friends on the guest list just because I wasn’t sure if a 'table' would get us in.
I was told that it was free entry before 11.30 so I made sure we go there with plenty of time to not pay £20 to get in. We arrived at Amika at 10.30, but there were two queues one to the left and one to the right and it was unclear which queue was for guest list/ tables etc. So i tried to ask the 'girl with the clipboard' at the door and she looked directly at me knowing I was trying to get her attention but instead she turned around to hug some people that she recognised in the queue and then pulled them to the front and handed them each a white card so they could get in without paying. It was cold, I needed to pee, and she was taking her time, so I was getting frustrated. She finally came over and ushered me to the queue to the right. It was now 10.45 and we were about 20 people from the front of the queue.
The queue didn’t seem to move, which led me to think that they were delaying entrance so people would have to pay. At 11.20ish we began to move, but only because the group of ‘non-white’ girls at the front of the queue left the queue, I asked why they were leaving as they had queued for longer than us. The girls said the lady at the door just picked on one of them and said 'sorry but I can’t let you in'. They were all dressed well, looked decent enough, it seemed harsh. The queue slowly began to move. A mixed Middle Eastern group got refused, but then she offered them a table, and said they could come in if they took a table. She then ushered them in bragging to the bouncers 'I’ve just sold a table'. Clearly if you get refused, just show them your money and you’ll get in.
Then it came to the two 'white' girls before us. She told them £20 each. They told her that they’d waited for an hour and they didn’t want to pay so they'd go elsewhere. The two girls began to walk away but the door girl handed them the 'free entry card' and in they went. She then asked the 3 of us (girls) to pay £20 each. I said we'd waited since 10.30 and also that I’d seen her let the girls before me in and she said sorry ' pay or leave'. Me and my friends were all desperate for the toilet and cold and had queued for an hour so we reluctantly paid.
This started the night badly and I was bitter because of the way we had been treated. We are three decent professional girls, a dentist, a scientist and a teacher and not that makes us worth more / less than everyone else, but I feel that we were discriminated against. All the people who seemed to have problems getting in were ‘non white’ and at 11.35 the two ‘white’ girls seemed to get in for free once they said they were leaving. I don’t see why she made an exception for them and not for us.
We paid £60 between us to get in only because we were desperate to use the toilet having queued for so long, and that really affected the mood for the night. I wouldn’t brand this club as racist as the people inside were lovely as were the bar staff, but the discrimination at the door was apparent and has left an impression that make me not want to go anything like this again and I would definitely not recommend it to others.
I’ve been to Mahiki, Jaloos and other such clubs and have never seen such rude behaviour by door staff.

I would hardly call Amika a club, as there is no dance floor - it is really just a bar. It is well designed, however that is what one would expect from a new venue in London. I found all the staff to be rude and arrogant - which, for such a place you would not expect. I was particularly surprised when I was told by the toilette attendant that I could not leave for a mere moment my glass on the sin, which he then emptied! I will never be coming back here or would recomend it.

Been numerous times and somehow the music varies from night to night, e.g., there's not always a bongo player, sometimes it is very mainstream, sometimes more dance. Crowd wise there's more men then women. Possibly because it is in Kensington, pretty girls don't "accidentally" venture to Amika, the way they might be drawn in if they walked past MoVida. Interior is glam, however.
